"Chop Time, No Friend!" is a Ghanaian saying that our father would call out whenever it was time to eat. It was his joyful war cry—a reminder that when good food is on the table, nothing else matters.

 

That feeling of excitement, laughter and togetherness inspired the name Chop Time, because we wanted to share the joy of West African food with communities across Australia.

Chop Time is the dream of two Ghanaian sisters: Majorie, who was born in Ghana, and Nwinni, who was born in Australia, a social enterprise that uses food, culture, music and storytelling to build community, celebrate African heritage and create spaces where people from all backgrounds feel welcome. Through shared experiences, we're creating connection—one gathering at a time.
